Just Kids. Written by Patti Smith, author, great artist, rock-godess and poet. Revolutionary woman, talented and original in her own way.

Brooklyn, 1967. The hippie culture has reached its peak and everything is brewing in humanity. This book tells the story of the special friendship between Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe, about love and friendship, ambition and passion for art. Together looking for recognition and fame. With her unique combination of music and poetry, Smith  breaks through in 1975 (the year I was born) as singer and punk / rockicon. Mapplethorpe is a very successful photographer, famous for his provocative style and new view on photo images.
This book is great, warm, exciting and sensitive and hard at the same time.
I read it as a fly in the lives in that period of both people. Destructive versus strong, and having the power to get that fame, they deserve.
If you like rock, poet, art and photographs and the most important  thing: friendship and love, fight and believe in your dream, read this MASTERPIECE! An uncensored view in the personal life of Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe!
